I’m Saira Anna Baker, and I founded Phoenix Pulse Digital Ltd, a digital marketing business in February 2024. I joined Girls in Marketing in July 2024, when I was right at the start of my business journey.

What were you looking for when you decided to become a Girls in Marketing member?

When I first became a member, I was looking for a space where I could both upskill and feel supported. Launching a new business can be overwhelming, as there’s so much to learn and keep on top of, and I knew I wanted a community that understood the challenges of working in marketing. I also wanted to connect with other professionals and feel less isolated in those early months of building my own business.

How has the Girls in Marketing Membership benefited you?
The membership has honestly been invaluable. Over the past year, it’s given me access to resources that I’ve directly applied in my client work and my own personal development. The templates we have access to through our membership is fantastic, and I could adapt to use in the day to day work.

The webinars help me stay ahead of digital marketing trends and the campfire sessions for freelancers is such a supportive space to seek advice. Becoming a member has also given me confidence. Having a supportive network to turn to has made me feel less like I was going it all alone, and more like I had peers I could learn from and share experiences with.

The 1:1 sessions have been especially invaluable. Olivia has been so helpful in the sessions I’ve had with her, always full of encouragement, guidance, and practical advice. Thanks to her and our mentoring sessions, I’ve even had the opportunity to attend marketing events outside of London, which has been fantastic for networking and learning.

One of the biggest benefits for me has been the sense of community. As a business owner, it can be easy to get caught up in the day-to-day and forget to invest in yourself. Girls in Marketing reminded me that my growth matters too, and that’s directly helped me build a stronger foundation for my business.

Are there any specific resources or features that play an important role in your day-to-day?
The templates and practical guides have been a lifesaver, they save me so much time and help me refine processes with my clients. 1:1 sessions, and community itself have been the biggest features for me, having other marketers to connect with and learn from makes such a difference. Our dedicated Slack community is great and I love jumping on each day.

A bit more about our Membership community

The Girls in Marketing Membership is for anyone currently working who wants to upskill and learn from marketing experts, career changers who want to move into a marketing career or aspiring marketers who are looking to learn new skills to enter the industry.

We welcome members from all backgrounds and our Membership is a safe space to engage with other marketers who understand your goals, challenges and can provide support and encouragement to you along the way!
As a member you can join the Membership Slack channel when you join us to keep up to date with everything going on, engage in conversations in the different channels and start up conversations in the DMs with members who you connect with!

We also run regular virtual networking sessions for members aimed at specific groups so you can discuss what's on your mind and meet other marketers in a similar position to you!

We currently run networking campfire sessions for junior marketers, mid-level marketers, B2B marketers and marketing freelancers.
Yes! As well as networking with our wonderful members, you'll also be able to book 30-minute 1-1 mentors sessions with our wonderful and experienced Girls in Marketing Mentors.

We're lucky to work with incredibly talented marketers who you can book a drop-in with to seek support with a challenge, discuss a strategy idea or ask for career advice!

Of course! We have many members who live outside the UK and we are a truly global community.
Absolutely! We have lots of members who are part of small or one-person marketing teams and our wonderful community acts as an extension of their team providing advice, tips and an understanding ear!
