Why we exist

When we’re asked what keeps us motivated, we remind ourselves that the Office for National Statistics declares that the average gender pay gap is 8.3%, yet the average gender pay gap in marketing is 28%. 

This is a huge problem not only for women, but for the marketing industry as a whole. 

Women deserve better and it’s our mission to be a part of the solution.

Company history

Since Girls in Marketing was founded in 2019, our members community has flourished and our online following has snowballed, resulting in Girls in Marketing becoming one of the largest online learning platforms for marketers. 

Let’s take a look back at our journey to this point…

Girls in Marketing is founded

Picture this. It’s a summer’s Sunday and Olivia sits at a cluttered table in Starbucks, sipping on an iced oat latte. This is where Girls in Marketing was born. Girls in Marketing began as a passion project built to create a space for women in the marketing industry, just like Olivia, to learn, grow and meet other marketers.

August 2019

Having witnessed the appetite for a platform like Girls in Marketing, Olivia saw a gap in the market to create something powerful. In 2020 Olivia left her marketing job and made the leap to run Girls in Marketing full-time.

2020

Girls in Marketing Membership launches

In 2021 the Girls in Marketing membership was launched, giving a whole new meaning to the word ‘community’. In just one year, Girls in Marketing became home to hundreds of marketers, all building a career they love with the help and support of our courses, resources and the Girls in Marketing team.

January 2021

2022 was a year of growth for Girls in Marketing and our team. We hosted in-person events, delivered new marketing courses, worked on exciting brand partnerships and developed our membership to make it better than ever. This is just the beginning for Girls in Marketing and we can’t wait for you to join us on this exciting journey.
